Guardian Angel Program

The Guardian Angel Program is an employee benefit program for the staff at Norton Road Veterinary Hospital. If funds permit, it allows the stray animals found by our employees to be examined, vaccinated and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Occasionally, you will see these pets available for adoption in our lobby for a fee. We encourage adoption of these pets as many of them have had a rough start. Occasionally, we have special needs animals that need homes as well. We try very hard to find all these animals loving and “forever” homes.

The adoption fee for animals in the Guardian Angel Program is $90 for cats and $125 for dogs. For cats this includes: Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS testing, all first year vaccinations including leukemia, fecal testing, spay/neuter and treatment for any external or internal parasites such as ear mites, fleas or worms. For dogs it includes heartworm and fecal testing, all first year vaccinations, spay/neuter and treatment for any external or internal parasites. Interested individuals may inquire at the front desk for an adoption application.

The only way this program exists is through fundraising events and donations from the public. We offer collection jars at our front desk as well as plan events such as Pictures with Santa every November. We are always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising idea and events, so let us know if you are interested in making a donation or assisting with raising money for these animals in need.

Please be advised that we do not accept “strays” from clients or the general public to adopt through this program, as it is available to our employees only. According to Ohio law, it is illegal to dump animals on our doorstep. Stray animals found in this manner are not eligible for this program and will be sent to the appropriate facilities.
