Lori Milliard RVT
Lori Millard has been a Registered Veterinary Technician
since 1999. She graduated from The Columbus State Community College and is a
member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Lori started her career in emergency medicine at MedVet an emergency
hospital for pets, and joined the family at Norton Road in 2003. Lori’s family
includes three Chihuahuas (Spike, Jake, and Lily), 1 Greyhound mix (Sam), and 2
cats (Huey and Morty), which were all rescue animals. In October 2008, Lori and
her husband added a baby girl, Abby to their family. Patient care is her highest priority and she prides herself in treating
her patients as if they were her own. Lori has a strong interest in pet
dentistry, and enjoys speaking to our clients about their own pets and personal
interests.
Melissa Dilley, Practice Manager
Melissa Cox, RVT has been onboard at Norton Road Veterinary
Hospital since October 2005 as a registered veterinary technician. She currently serves as our
practice manager in addition to her technician duties. She has been working in
the veterinary field since she was 17 years old. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The Ohio State
in 2003 and an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State
Community College in 2005.She is a
member of the Ohio Veterinary Technician Association and attends continuing
education seminars regularly. She particularly enjoys the human animal bond
aspect of her job as well as working with the exotic species. As practice
manager, there is rarely a problem that she can’t solve, so feel free to ask for
her help especially with special order medications, cost analysis with chronic
use medications etc. She has five four- legged children at home – all cats.
Helen West, Technician
Helen has been caring for animals as a
technician since 1977. She started her career in Decatur, Illinois where she
spent 26 years in the same practice. She became licensed in the state of
Washington in 2003 and moved to Ohio to work at Norton Road Veterinary Hospital
in 2005. Her intense love of animals has kept her going all these years with a
great attitude and a wonderful bedside manner. She shares her home with a
Rottweiler
Chelsea Goldstein, RVT
Chelsea graduated from The Vet Tech
Institute at Bradford School in 2007. Upon completion of an internship at our
hospital, we hired her as a technician. You might see Chelsea in a variety of
roles as she commonly fills in at the front desk, assists with appointments and
spends countless hours caring for the patients staying at the hospital.
Chelsea and her fiancé, Jeremy as planning a wedding in the
Fall 2009, so she has plenty to do when she is not at work.

Jana Widner, Veterinary Assistant
Jana became a veterinary assistant at Norton Road
Veterinary Hospital in Jan 2005. She also teaches puppy kindergarten at Dog Talk
in Dublin. Her strong interest in behavior makes her a great addition to our
team as she spends countless hours counseling owners about topics such as Gentle
Leader training, desensitization training for nail trimming and ear cleaning
etc. She is a member of The American Pet Dog Trainers Association and is a
graduate of the DOGS! course from Purdue University. She shares her home with
three dogs (Chevy, Bourbon and Tippy) and an FIV positive cat (Stubby).
Laura Vaughn
Laura Vaughn majored in Wildlife Management at The Ohio
State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. She
went on to work with the shore birds at the Columbus Zoo and later migrated
south to work in the Arctic Seabird/Falcon section at the North Carolina Zoo.
Laura wrote a paper on hand-rearing captive Horned Puffins that she presented at
the 2004 AZA Regional Conference. She later transferred into the Forest
Aviary/Avian Propagation section working with a variety of tropical bird
species. Laura was awarded a grant in 2006 through the North Carolina Zoo to
work with San Diego Zoo staff in artificial incubation and hand rearing of
captive bird species. Laura is certified in Basic Wildlife Rehabilitation also.
She has volunteered at the Ohio Wildlife Center, as well as participated in an
oil spill rescue with Tri-State Bird Rescue staff located in Newark, Delaware.
Laura moved back home to Ohio and joined the team at the Norton Road Veterinary
Hospital in February 2008 as a Veterinary Assistant. She aspires to become a Vet
Tech by enrolling at Columbus State Community College and is interested in the
medical aspect of animal care. Laura enjoys working with all animals but has a
special interest in exotic species (especially the feathered ones) at the
clinic. She has been affectionately nicknamed “Bird Nerd” and proudly answers to
it. Laura has her own “mini-zoo” at home with her two birds, two dogs, and one
cat. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, bird watching,
kayaking, and fishing with her husband Ryan.
Elisha Cummings, Veterinary Assistant
Elisha is a pre-veterinary student who has worked as a
veterinary assistant at Norton Road Veterinary Hospital since 2007. She began
working in veterinary hospitals right out of high school and gained valuable
experience as a technician while working at a hospital in Arizona prior to
moving back to Ohio. In addition to working full-time, she carries a full course
load at The Ohio State University where she continues to work towards becoming a
veterinarian.
Nikki Cartwright, Veterinary Assistant
Nikki has been an assistant since 2005 and currently helps out
in a variety of positions. Her intense love of animals makes her a caring
addition to our team. She is crazy about Boxers and she has two at home (Max and
Tonka) in addition to a cat named Scrappy.
Michelle Biehl, Head Customer Care Specialist
If there is one person who can answer the tough questions,
it’s Michelle. She has been with Norton Road Veterinary Hospital since it opened
in 1998 and has been at the front desk ever since. Her job involves a lot of
multi-tasking as she is often answering the phone, checking clients in and out
while fulfilling a long list of “special assignments” give to her by the
doctors. She manages to do this with a smile on her face and a positive
attitude. Michelle loves talking to clients and trouble-shooting any problems
that might arise during the day. Michelle and her husband, Bob have two
wonderful children (Amber and Bobby) and share their home with two cats.
